Cross Forged Stag Hunting and Field Knife

This weeks custom is a really nice Stag hunting and field knife
with a cross forged pattern aged blade that is about 4" long.

The sheath was hand stitched and you can see the hand tooled
and carved with a buck deer.

A New video has been posted of one of my coffin shaped fire steels.

Also a New update.   The website will be updated with "Add to Cart" options on
more of my Special order knives just like the AA2 Camp and field.  The
Order Form option will be left as well as I know many prefer using the mail in
method as well.

Wilderness Neck Knife and a set of Fire Steels

This custom order Neck knife will make a great companion
in the wilderness.

Overall this is about a 7 inch knife with a really nice patina
aged blade.  Handle is some really beautiful Tiger maple
with large brass pins.

I custom made a slimmer ferro rod for the neck carry option
and it fits right next to the knife on the sheath.

Both of the Fire steels were forged from stout steel in my shop
and are tempered to throw some nice sparks.

Some of you have asked me in the past about some of the leather tools and knives
I use in making sheaths and some of the leather work I do.

Below is one of my custom leather cutting tools I use everyday.  I forged this in my
shop and it works great.

I guess you could say this is a cross between a head knife and a mini ulu, without
a handle.  I have more control with it the way it is shaped and the size I find I can
use for most leather cutting.  The blade is about

Straight back Bush and Hunting knife ....Ways to carry a knife part 1

This week I have this custom set I recently completed minus a mini
strop I am working on.

The knife has a blade a little under 4 inches with pattern and patina
aging, handle is tiger maple with brass pins and lanyard hole
and is about 4 1/2" long.

Sheath is hand stitched and high aged.  You can see there is no
loop on the sheath for the ferro rod.  This steel and matching ferro
rod will be carried separate.

A new video has been posted as well.  I made this video to give some ideas for neck
knife carry.   Neck knives can be carried many more ways other than around the
neck.

Woods Runner Set..Custom bag..Kephart..hudson bay and game hunting knife

One of my Woods runner sets, customized.

This was done for a special custom order
3 knives, the bag and also included was
one of my custom ferro rods and coffin
fire steels.

Some additional information on this set.
The kephart is antiqued stag with a free hand
tooled belt sheath.  The blade being a cleaner
finish.

The Hudson bay camp knife is my H2 version
with aged dark black walnut, steel pins
over brass washers.

The last knife was a mid sized knife that could
be used for many woods, and hunting chores.
The blade being pattern and patina aged with
antiqued elk stag handle.  The sheath as
well as the others was hand stitched and also
has my free hand hand tooled line work.

The bag was entirely hand worked as well, all the
leather was hand stitched and oiled by hand several
times.  The bags button was made from antler.
If you look at the last picture you can see both
the hudson bay and the mid sized stag knife can
be carried on the bag, the sheaths can also be worn
on the belt if wanted.

Spoon Carved, with carving knife

I had a chance to carve another spoon with one of my carving knives.
This time I carved from a section of maple from my wood pile.

I also added a new firesteel to the same order page.
This is a coffin shaped fire steel, that can be set up
as neck wear or great for your shooting bag, hiking pack,
traditional firestarting with flint or ferro rod.
