Frontier Spear Point Knife with a custom Rawhide sheath

This is a recently completed custom piece.

The knife itself is a classic spear point design with a blade
over 4 inches long both with  pattern and patina aged finish.

The spine was hand file worked.

The handle is antiqued elk stag with a tight stitched forward
haft of vintage aged rawhide.

The sheath is one of my custom Frontier rawhide sheaths
with a hard veg tan liner.  The rawhide has been antiqued
and cross stitched and laced with vintage aged trade beads,
tin cones and horse hair.  The copper piece (dangler)
was also forged and shaped by hand.  This sheath can be
worn high and cross drawn.

Semi Spear point custom knife and tooled Starry Night Sheath

This week I am posting a custom order knife that has a
a 6 inch semi spear pointed blade.  The blade also has
pattern and patina aging with a file worked spine.

The spine is 3/16" thick with a solid heft.

Handle was shaped in a bird beak shape with old
growth rough cut maple.  Pinned with brass pins
over brass washers.

The sheath was hand stitched and hand tooled
and carved with a representation of
Vincent Van Gogh's starry night.

Custom Spear Point Knife

Recent custom knife work, of a beautiful spear point.

This knife was special ordered with a beefed up 3/16" spine
stag and (white liners).

The blade is pattern and patina aged and is about 5 inches
long with some nice file work.

Sheath was hand stitched.

I have a good collection of photos I have taken on hikes and woods
journeys here is another one.

Deep Belly Spear Point More Pictures and Tooled leather work

Posted below are a some additional pictures of the
Deep belly Spear point recently sold from
my available  knives gallery 1

If you jumping here from an Internet search here is a
a little info on the knife.  This piece was forged from
1095 high carbon steel.  The pattern aged blade was
about 4.25 with a tiger maple handle.   The spine
has been beefed up at 3/16" thick and also was hand
(jimped) file worked.   If you click the above link and
scroll down to letter G you will see more info until a
new knife is posted in its place.  The sheath was
antiqued and hand stitched.

the photo.

A Custom Frontier Belt knife with leather and rawhide

This frontier style knife was custom a custom.

The spear point style blade is about 6 inches long that has

been patina aged.

The handle is aged elk bone that has been hafted in elk

leather toward the forward portion of the handle and also

has tight stitched portion of leather.

The sheath has a hard core leather liner and has been wrapped

and cross stitched with aged rawhide and brain tan leather.

the brain tan lace has vintage trade beads and a antiqued tin cone

with horse hair.  This style sheath is made to be worn placed 

behind  or simply tucked behind your pants.

Also thought you would like to see a photo of some of the colors here  in
upstate NY.

Deep Belly Spear point Knife

A look at some past work for you to see.  This one was
made awhile back.  You can see from the pictures this has a
very nice wide spear point type blade with hand file work
on the spine.

I believe this one had a beefed up 3/16" spine and
an antiqued white oak handle with 4 steel pins and
lanyard hole.  blade about 5".

This piece also has hand braided leather at the but end
going through the lanyard hole.

As all my sheaths, hand stitched and this one was done
in dark brown.

Went out earlier today and happened to have my camera with me
and saw this longear out by the garden!  Hopefully the beans
are in good shape.

Kephart Custom with horizontal sheath

This kephart knife was recently completed for a
custom order.

This custom has a tiger maple handle, brass pins and
lanyard.  The blade is pattern and patina aged.

The sheath is hand stitched and set up horizontal to
wear on the back and drawn out right handed.
